the Sacred Work Within Our Walls
Written By Cytayi Washington Jenkins 10/07/2025
As women, our responsibilities can often feel never-ending.
Depending on our season of life, we may be working full-time, running a business, serving as wives, mothers, caregivers ; or carrying all of these roles at once. Yet through it all, many of us sense a deeper calling, a divine purpose that compels us to serve, lead, and make an impact beyond ourselves.
We pour our hearts into ministries, causes, and initiatives that reflect our passion and faith. And as Daughters of the Most High God, we are indeed called to great and meaningful things.
However, I want to lovingly remind you that your first and greatest ministry begins at home.
Before the titles, the platforms, and the callings your home is the foundation God has entrusted to you. It is the first place where love, faith, and service take root. Nurturing that space and the people within it is not a lesser calling it is a holy one.
Colossians 3:23–24 (KJV) states
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
Reflection: Whether you’re cooking, cleaning, managing, or comforting it all counts as worship when done unto the Lord.
Proverbs 31:27–28 (KJV)
“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Reflection: The Proverbs 31 woman’s first ministry is her home and through faithfulness in that space, she earns the respect and love of those around her.
Proverbs 14:1 (KJV)
“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”
Reflection: A wise woman recognizes that her influence at home is foundational her words, actions, and prayers set the spiritual tone for her household.
Your First Ministry: Stewardship Begins at Home
This is not a small thing we are building we are shaping a nation.
We are raising up the next intercessors, the future leaders, the great and mighty men and women of the Kingdom of God. Our homes are the soil where Kingdom purpose takes root and grows.
“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”
— Proverbs 14:1 (KJV)
💍 A Holy Call to Serve
As women of faith, we have a sacred duty within our homes. We are called to serve our husbands, even when the day has been long, even when emotions are high, even when things aren’t going our way. This kind of service is not weakness; it is honorable in the sight of the Lord and reflects Christ’s love through humility.
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”
— Ephesians 5:22 (KJV)
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
— Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
Raising the Next Generation of Believers
We are also called to serve our children, to nurture them with lovingkindness, to teach them the Word of God, to pour into them with intention, and to give them our undivided attention. Every moment spent guiding them in truth is an eternal investment.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”
— Proverbs 31:26 (KJV)
Caring for Those Entrusted to You
If you are caring for others within your home- an elderly parent, a relative, or a friend that too is holy work. God sees your faithfulness in the hidden moments. Your labor of love is a form of worship.
“With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.”
— Ephesians 6:7 (KJV)
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
— Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
Stewardship Is a Sacred Trust
This is not a job it is a divine assignment. God does not take our commitments lightly. He has entrusted us with these blessings, and we are responsible to be good stewards of what He has placed in our hands.
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)
If we neglect or fail to nurture what He’s given us, He can and will remove it and give it to another who will value it. Just as He took the kingdom from Saul and gave it to David, and just as the master in the Parable of the Talents took from the unfaithful servant, God honors faithfulness and increases those who tend well to what He’s provided.
“The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.”
— 1 Samuel 15:28 (KJV)
“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.”
— Matthew 25:28 (KJV)
Faithfulness Brings Fruitfulness
In your servitude, the small details will begin to work themselves out. As you prioritize your God-given responsibilities first, you will find yourself with more peace, more time, and more grace to enjoy the things you love.
Because when order is restored, blessing follows.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
— Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
A Prayer for Stewardship and Strength in the Home
Father God in Heaven,
Thank You for every blessing You have graciously poured into my life. Thank You for my home, my family, my work, and every detail that You so carefully orchestrate.
Lord, help me to be a wise steward over all that You have entrusted to me. Restore joy to my heart so that I may delight in the everyday tasks that come with being a wife, a mother, and a woman after Your own heart.
Teach me to be intentional with my time, and help me to raise my children with grace, patience, and purpose. May I extend to them the same mercy and room to grow that You have so freely given to me.
On the days when I feel weary or overwhelmed, send help, Lord. Surround me with a strong and loving village people who will uplift, nurture, and support my family in faith and love.
Let our home be filled with peace, joy, laughter, and love. Let there be no lack, and let every need be met through Your abundant provision. Bless and multiply the work of my hands, and may everything I do reflect Your Kingdom on earth.
Make our family a living example of Kingdom living rooted in love, guided by faith, and anchored in Your Word.
In Jesus’ mighty name,
Amen.
THE POWER OF RENEWING YOUR MIND. 03/23/2023
Written By Cytayi Ramirez 3/24/2023
Life can be difficult at times. External pressures of the world can make life even more challenging. Everyday we deal with the social constructs of society and our homes. Who should I be? How should I dress? What should I do? Will I be accepted or liked? Looking at perfection on social media can make us question our own decisions, lives and even self-worth. Traditional roles that are projected on us can make us question our destinies. One of the most often asked questions is: What is my purpose? We often associate our purpose and worthiness with our identity. Becoming a college graduate, obtaining a high paying career, being pretty, our ability to be liked, etc. can make us feel good about ourselves and we attach those feelings to our worthiness. This positive or negative feeling often effects our idea of self-purposefulness or the lack thereof. I want to assure you that there is a remedy for all of our issues. We can find relief in knowing our true identity. The truth is that God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27). Furthermore, that He has a special purpose and relationship with each of us (Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5). He loves us so much that He gave His only Son so that we can be in relationship with Him forevermore (John 3:16). Rooting our identity in what Gods says about us is the first step in navigating our lives when things become difficult. Even after believing in Christ, humbling ourselves and trading our will for God’s will we are still subject to the pressures of this world. We know that the enemy never sleeps in trying to distract us. These distractions can ultimately lead to our demise if we are not careful (1 Peter 5:8). All worldly external pressures are distractions from the enemy. In the book of Ephesians, we are taught that we must equip ourselves so that we can stand against the enemy (Ephesians 6:11-13). To overcome the enemy, we must also be renewing our mind daily (Romans 12:1-2). Renewing our mind looks like affirming the word of God over our lives. One of our biggest weapons is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12) For example, in times of trouble, we can recite Romans 8:28-39. This allows us to not focus on the physical but know that God is in control of everything, He is with us and we can therefore rejoice. This also allows us to concern ourselves with the things of God and not the things of this world (Colossians 3:2). When you are afraid you can refer to Joshua 1:9. This will encourage us to be strong and have courage/confidence rooted in Christ. When you grow weary you will be strengthened reading Isaiah 40:31. When in doubt you will regain your faith by reading Mark 9:23-24. If you are feeling down Isaiah 41:10 is sure to lift your spirits. The bible has scriptures for any issue that we experience. God has anticipated every issue and even sent His Son to overcome these issues for us. It is God’s word that directs our path and thereby grants us success (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:11-16). I hope that this encourages you on your path and that you are reminded to renew your mind daily. Majority of our battles take place in the mind. Having the right perspective can help you win the battle.

Genesis 1:27) 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Psalm 139:13-16) 13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Jeremiah 1:5) 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
John 3:16) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 Peter 5:8-11) 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 6:11-13) 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Romans 12:1-2) 12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 6:17) 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Hebrews 4:12) 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Romans 8:28-39) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Colossians 3:2) 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Joshua 1:9) 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Mark 9:23-24) 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Isaiah 41:10) 10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Psalm 119:11-16) 11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee. 12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: Teach me thy statutes. 13 With my lips have I declared All the judgments of thy mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, As much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate in thy precepts, And have respect unto thy ways. 16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Joshua 1:8) 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
